Fort McDowell Adventures, one of the most unique venues in Scottsdale, announces the twentieth anniversary of its revered venue “La Puesta del Sol” meeting venue. Named for “the setting sun” in Spanish, La Puesta del Sol was first built in 1992 as a resort amenity and event venue for the nearby Scottsdale resorts and has hosted thousands of corporate events, meeting planner functions and weddings in its twenty year history.
The venue is one of four unique venues in Scottsdale located on the Fort McDowell Adventures property, which is owned by the indigenous Yavapai Nation. Fort McDowell Adventures also includes interesting and uniquely western event venues such as Rosa’s Ranch, The Stables at Fort McDowell and the cherished and enchanting Boulder House in nearby Scottsdale, Arizona.
La Puesta del Sol is a massive 18,000 square foot venue perched atop a cactus-dotted mesa on Fort McDowell’s property, just past the Fort McDowell Casino and Radisson Resort off of the Beeline Highway outside of Fountain Hills and Scottsdale, Arizona. The building itself was original built in 1992 and expanded and refurbished in a half a million dollar renovation in 2002. The venue itself can accommodate up to 1,400 guests for corporate events, parties and celebrations as well as team building activities, sales missions and business retreats and off-site activities.
The building features retractable walls for indoor/outdoor entertainment, enclosed gas fire pits, serving stations and bars and a full stage and sound system. Adjacent structures and amenities include Dirty Doc’s Saloon featuring a full bar and indoor fireplace plus outdoor kiva-side seating, an Old Tyme Photo Parlour, open air barbeques and catering stations and cowboy games. The venue’s strategic location affords incomparable 360 degree views of the surrounding mountain chains. The mile-high spout of nearby Fountain Hills, Arizona’s famed fountain can often be seen showering proudly over the horizon.
A month of celebrations is planned for the event venue and locals and meeting planners are invited for site tours and inspections to see the famed space. A large scale, invite-only celebration will take place on November 30th, 2012 to celebrate La Puesta del Sol’s two decades of superior service, including a day-long familiarization tour for local and national media, journalists, event planners and destination marketing professionals.
“We’ve hosted thousands of events at la Puesta del Sol from corporate events for Polaroid and IBM to local boy and girl scout groups, high school and charity functions and some of the most spectacular weddings you’ve ever seen,” states Fort McDowell Adventures’ general manager Rick Cibik. “Our unique location just outside of Scottsdale, coupled with the multitude of nearby hotels, transportation, amenities and mild, seasonal climate afford us an opportunity for spectacular events practically year round. La Puesta del Sol is the crown jewel of Fort McDowell’s event venues.”
